The Admin of this blog had a meeting yesterday, Bob took the minutes, he has proof we actually did something more than argue and throw paper planes at each other.

The topic of the meeting was the future of The XD Project.

We discussed it, and the short of  it is, The XD Project will be laid to rest.

The long of it is, The XD Project will be laid to rest, we’ve had a long and successful history here, with a number of posts making it to #1 in Google searches for related topics. We’ve had tens of thousands of visitors each year, and a multitude more page views. Over all we’re pretty happy with that. It showed we succeeded in doing what we set out to do with this blog, laugh.

Of late our posts have started to reflect our lives more, and as we age life gets more serious – or our outlook on life does. Admin Daniel explained in his post his reasons for leaving, but my reason for folding The XD Project is that I don’t feel I can produce the same side splitting humour I used to be able to. Like him, my life has gotten more serious, and my values have shifted, updating a blog with rampaging rants and rambles is no longer a high priority. When I do want to blog, it tends to have somewhat serious overtones, even if the writing is light – that I don’t feel is fitting for The XD Project.

But never fear, my humour is far from dead, I shall still endeavour to make the internet laugh at my stupidity, but the medium will be different! I am working on a series of animations with a friend. Keep an eye open for Haegler and Werkhoven on YouTube and Vimeo to catch some epic lolz and good stories. I say good, what I really mean is great, but that’s just my opinion. Which as this is, for now, still The XD Project means that it is the right opinion.

So without further ado, I, Dan, now Dictator of The XD Project (let me tell you, that final success was not as sweet as I’d hoped) bid thee farewell.

Bob says bye, too, we’ll miss him, the lil squirt.

As Facebook does, I saw a comment by a friend on the post I’m linking below.  As I read the post I thought, “How very true and sad for us, but how amazing is the grace of God!”  And then I began to read the comments.  As I did, I saw that the original message that I took away from the story had been compromised, and not only that, but the author was seemingly in agreeance with the compromise.  Then I started to wonder  - what message was given? (more…)

I really really really wonder why there’s a bunch of cakes on it.

I don’t even bake.  Much.  Like, ok, maybe a couple times a year with my little sister.  That’s about it, really.  Heck, my cakes are round, short and…wait, no, I’m describing myself.  My CAKES are in square tins, and come out square most of the time if they come out at all.  I mean, baking paper and all that stuff is kinda non-intuitive until you’ve ruined a good mix.

I was remiss in posting THE CAKE and have (after much self-flagellation) posted it here:

Daniel Last cake

This is the very last cake I am posting in this sequence.  That makes it cake #4.
